Yes, it IS a little ove ra month away, but it also is not too soon, if you dont wish to be rushed.
A good thing we discoverd at Highland War is that the popups are water resistant. Coz it DID rain there, and nothing leaked, except the area between the popups (as would be expected).
I am also repainting the older, smaller folding shelves. They had gottenratty looking, an d this flat black helps their appearance a lot. I may hit them with Thompson Waterseal, too, for added protection.
While we really didnt need the add3ed hang on weights at Highland War, I want to make from clay weights that have a slot that wraps the whole thing around the leg.
We would need such whenever we are on asphalt. The new popups are heavier, have better venting and more spiking opportunity than the old ones did.
I also want to work on chicken cookers, apple cookers (both have a cintral core for the items being cooked, some pipkins and colanders.
Should keep m eoff the streets. 8-)

Still, sale wer enot particularly good.
I always get this feeling it was something "I" did, when it probably wasnt.
Well, we have Great Western war comeing up, and that is good.
I wil replace twice teh most expensive thing I make for GWW. tha tI am determined to do.
Crown and trip to Hemet

Saturday.
Saturday was Crown Tourney, and Mercy and I sold fairly well. the day started of warm, and still, and humid. If we wante dto, we coudl hav eset up under the only tree on site, but ti also woumd have been on rougher ground and loose dirt, and we didnt want that.
For myself, some of the thing folks hav eno tbeen intersted in in the past, are now starting to generate interest. We sold quite a few mottled pieces; mugs, bowls and goblets. And a number of tankards slip-tariled with knotwork adn a few rose ones, too. We even sold a lesser puzzle jug, 8-) ANd folsk expressed interst in the puzzle mugs. YAY!
Sale were pretty much across the board.
Towards the end of the day, it got cooler and mor eand mor ewindy, to the point it was gettign difficult to pack pots in paper. Interstingly, teh popups handled the wind fairly well, with out being staked down. This was due, in part to the vents in the roof and tha tthese popups are heavier tha tth eblue ones. Thsi bodes well of Highland Wars, wer ethe wind can be even more intense, an d we WILL stake thatdown and use concrete blocks to keep them in place, We also bungee the popups together.
Over this next week, I wil unload some of the boxes and shift the emphasis of what we display.
ADN intersting this to see on Sat, was a recurring flying display of a Missing Man formation by 4 WW2 era warbirds. Dispit their having rather rough engines, they were magnificent to see!
Sunday.
We drove out to Hemet to help two of Huetts apprentices celebrate their 20th anniversary. We took them to a very nice Sunday buffet (the meat was wonderful!) and a goo dtime was had by all.
We dorve by Marsh Air Museum, and we are DEFINATLY comein gback on OUT anneversary! So many wonderful example of warbird on outdoor display, from the WWII eara to now. I am eager to see!
Yes , we did get lost a bit comeing and going, but tha twas as much to do with crappy signage as anything else.
The bad thing is that when we hit the sirface streets (Huette drive better on them when she is tired that on the freeways) we got to the intersection of Foothill and Vineyard, and the car died. Just dies. (this is about 40 miles from home) Some very nice gentle men helped push it into a turn out an dlet us use his cell phone ot call triple A. Don was called to com eget us, adn the car was transported back to Temple City (good thing we paid of teh "extras" at Triple A). After a bit of cooling, the car started again. Sigh.
So, we ar every sore and very tired from this last weekend. Not much is gonna happen to day, as such. I am running a bisque, and hav ereshifted part of the van contents.
Tomorrow we go to Arrdvarks and ge tsome more clays and glaze chems. AND a repalcement handextruder, since the one I was use using managed to get busted, The damn things srew parts always seem to come unscrewed, and this time unfixably. They are getting a bit less stiff, now..but still somewhat. Damn annoying, fo rsomething tha tis SUPPOSED to be portable and easy to use! Grrr!
I slso got the last flagpole made, so we can have all our flags up and be more colorful.
Leslie shipped me my chair that Thumper made me, at last, and that will go with us to the longer duration wars. We take the White Stalion with us then, and there i smore rooom in the van. I am glad it is here; YAY!

Had my every two months appointment with Dr. Yee today. I am basically feeling well, no chest pains.
I asked about my BP havign numbers on the top and bottom, whereby one was very much under norm, and one was over,I was asked if I am taking my two BP meds, and I said yes, and was told to not worry about it then. Shrug..not really an answer, but I suppose he assumes I wont understand. ANd i probably wont, but it IS nice to know. Time to research on the computer, I guess.
lso, they did a routine EKG..I have had a number of them at his office. The only unsusal things was, I usually get to leave right away when she runs the test. (and it is always the same nurse). This time, she held me aside, an dwanted to show the results to Dr. Yee first. She did, and then she dismissed me. Odd..I am not sure what to make of that, if anything. Shrug.
Anyway, all seems well. Go back in another two months.

I am go9ig more slowly in the studio now. Its a good two weeks to Crown, and most of the pottery I intend to make for it is made. Highland Wars is the weekend after Crown, and it is mostly prepared for too. Since this is a smalller war, I want have as much of an assortment needing to be done. Ive had the betteer part of thepas ttwo months to get read, and we are JAMBED with packe dpots.
I have made some slip-trailed tankards wiht a Tudor Rose, of a circular knotwork patter on them. I have also been working on Yarn Bells, experimenting wiht those to make the form my own,,and have something for our fiber friend. These will definately go on the website.
Mostly next week, I need ot work on the second popup, so it wil go up more quickly. Alsoenlarge the foot holes, to hold a larger spike for stablity at Highland War. Tends to be windy there.
We ar esharing space wiht Mercy, so we need both popups, and they need t go up with NOT so much effort. The first one is working better now on that account. Now to tge tthe second in line.
